HBM Day of Prayer

Please join us in a day of prayer

This Wednesday, December 13th, is HBM's first Quarterly Day of Prayer. We believe prayer is the cornerstone of our ministry and that our growth and effectiveness as a ministry is dependent on humbly bringing our needs before God. We also believe that the heartbeat of HBM is our relationships...the relationships with those we serve in Haiti, and also our relationships with YOU, our prayer partners and financial supporters. On Wednesday, December 13th, we are going to ask that you set aside some time to pray specifically for some of our needs, but we want you to know that we value you and the needs that are present and real in your life right now as well. While you are praying for us, we desire to be praying for you. It would be our honor and joy to intercede before our Father for you. If there is a prayer need you would like us as a ministry to be lifting up for you, please send an email to prayer@haitibiblemission.org.

Here are some ways you can be praying for our ministry and staff...

  • Pray that we would reach our year-end giving goal to meet our budget
  • Pray for the health of our staff and their families
  • Pray for God's favor and blessing in not only Jeremie, but wherever we do projects and share the gospel
  • Pray that the government will change and desire to help the country
  • Pray for all the children at our school in Te Wouj
  • Pray for the Jeremie hospital to improve and provide better care for all the sick and hurting people
  • Pray for Marc Donald and his wife Krista. He is flying to the states on Thursday to be with Krista and their daughter, Lucianne, as they all await the arrival of their second child, baby boy Max, on January 10th

Thank you for all of your prayers, support, and contributions so far this year. We wouldn't be the ministry we are today without God bringing us partners like you!

Year End Push

Giving Tuesday Update:

Thank you to all who gave to Haiti Bible Mission on Giving Tuesday! We brought in $650, and while we are thankful and blessed for God's provision through your generosity, we have a long way to go to reach our goal. We know that God is able and will provide! We would love to have you "Live the Difference" and help us raise $20,000 for the vision of HBM to meet our year end budget and give us a solid start to our 2018 goals!

One Year Post-Hurricane Matthew

Click to view a video update as we reach one year since Hurricane Matthew destroyed much of the Grand Anse' region.  Though the past year has been challenging, it has reminded us of God's continual provision and love for his people.  We are privileged to serve in the Jeremie area and blessed that we can live the difference with these communities.

Working Together

We have been working hard to collaborate this summer with short-term teams, other missions organizations, leaders and communities throughout the Grand Anse region.  Much of this teamwork was on display this past month!  Read below to see just a few things that have been on our hearts and minds the past few weeks!

HaitiOne Grand Anse Regional Conference

HBM had the opportunity to organize and host the first HaitiOne Grand Anse Regional Conference this month!  A mix of mayors, pastors, businessmen and other community leaders attended who represented cities and town across our Grand Anse District.  This is the first step to collaborating with people of different walks of life and areas of influence to pinpoint what and where the most need is in our region.  It was encouraging to work with Mission of Hope, HaitiOne and these great men and women to meet needs more effectively.

Leadership Conference

It was an exciting few days this month to host David Wiedis and his wife, Miho to teach our Leadership Conference.  It was a revealing time to dive into ruling passions that control our lives without the knowledge of many of us.  Drawing from the lives of Peter and Paul, it gave each staff member to see motives and problem-solving in the first church and give a chance to reflect on what drives each of us; whether we are pastors, teachers, security guards or kitchen staff.

Short-Term Teams

It was a privilege to welcome New Song Community Church to our mission in Jeremie for the first time this month!  This group of 21 passionate individuals worked in the summer heat for a week to partner with us in roofing fifteen homes in the St. Helene and Sou Platon zones in Jeremie, re-install the water collection system at Madam Joel's orphanage in Chambellan, paint and install chalk boards at Te Wouj School and much more.  Our staff fell in love with this fun, serving team, and it was a blessing to host them.

Outreach Projects

We have completed several bathrooms for communities in Sou Platon, Caracolie and Bonbon.  Through these, we foster public sanitation, health, and build relationships in new communities with the help of their own leaders!

HBM Midyear Update

It is hard to believe that we are reaching the middle of 2017 already.  The past six months have been busy times of rebuilding and new growth for HBM, and it is a blessing to look back to celebrate and reflect on the first half of 2017.  Click through the pictures below to get a recap of 2017!

God has been using and stretching both the staff and teams at HBM this year, and we eagerly await what He has in store for us in the following months.  Our discipleship course is getting kickstarted in just a few weeks by a Leadership Conference led by Dave Wiedis of Serving Leaders Ministries.
There are also more projects ahead that you can come alongside us at HBM to reach out in our communities as we continue a year of rebuilding in Jeremie, Haiti.
