Year End Push

Giving Tuesday Update:

Thank you to all who gave to Haiti Bible Mission on Giving Tuesday! We brought in $650, and while we are thankful and blessed for God's provision through your generosity, we have a long way to go to reach our goal. We know that God is able and will provide! We would love to have you "Live the Difference" and help us raise $20,000 for the vision of HBM to meet our year end budget and give us a solid start to our 2018 goals!

One Year Post-Hurricane Matthew

Click to view a video update as we reach one year since Hurricane Matthew destroyed much of the Grand Anse' region.  Though the past year has been challenging, it has reminded us of God's continual provision and love for his people.  We are privileged to serve in the Jeremie area and blessed that we can live the difference with these communities.

Working Together

We have been working hard to collaborate this summer with short-term teams, other missions organizations, leaders and communities throughout the Grand Anse region.  Much of this teamwork was on display this past month!  Read below to see just a few things that have been on our hearts and minds the past few weeks!

HaitiOne Grand Anse Regional Conference

HBM had the opportunity to organize and host the first HaitiOne Grand Anse Regional Conference this month!  A mix of mayors, pastors, businessmen and other community leaders attended who represented cities and town across our Grand Anse District.  This is the first step to collaborating with people of different walks of life and areas of influence to pinpoint what and where the most need is in our region.  It was encouraging to work with Mission of Hope, HaitiOne and these great men and women to meet needs more effectively.

Leadership Conference

It was an exciting few days this month to host David Wiedis and his wife, Miho to teach our Leadership Conference.  It was a revealing time to dive into ruling passions that control our lives without the knowledge of many of us.  Drawing from the lives of Peter and Paul, it gave each staff member to see motives and problem-solving in the first church and give a chance to reflect on what drives each of us; whether we are pastors, teachers, security guards or kitchen staff.

Short-Term Teams

It was a privilege to welcome New Song Community Church to our mission in Jeremie for the first time this month!  This group of 21 passionate individuals worked in the summer heat for a week to partner with us in roofing fifteen homes in the St. Helene and Sou Platon zones in Jeremie, re-install the water collection system at Madam Joel's orphanage in Chambellan, paint and install chalk boards at Te Wouj School and much more.  Our staff fell in love with this fun, serving team, and it was a blessing to host them.

Outreach Projects

We have completed several bathrooms for communities in Sou Platon, Caracolie and Bonbon.  Through these, we foster public sanitation, health, and build relationships in new communities with the help of their own leaders!

HBM Midyear Update

It is hard to believe that we are reaching the middle of 2017 already.  The past six months have been busy times of rebuilding and new growth for HBM, and it is a blessing to look back to celebrate and reflect on the first half of 2017.  Click through the pictures below to get a recap of 2017!

God has been using and stretching both the staff and teams at HBM this year, and we eagerly await what He has in store for us in the following months.  Our discipleship course is getting kickstarted in just a few weeks by a Leadership Conference led by Dave Wiedis of Serving Leaders Ministries.
There are also more projects ahead that you can come alongside us at HBM to reach out in our communities as we continue a year of rebuilding in Jeremie, Haiti.

Summer is Here!

Summer is an exciting season, packed full of outreach and opportunities for growth!  We look forward with great expectations of what God will do in this season as we welcome a medical team, several construction teams, Dave Wiedis for a Leadership Conference with our staff and much more!  Join us in praying for His leading, divine appointments and hearts open to receive Him!

We are so grateful as the school year finishes that we have a new building for our students and teachers!  The doors and floor of the school building are the final pieces needed to really complete the classrooms and make the school secure.  The students are having class in the building, but must perch on benches that totter on gravel and rubble that is the floor now.  The total cost of the floor and doors is $5,000, and if you feel led, you can click the donate button above to give any amount to the school floor or doors (under Category, choose "General" and in the comments section, simply type, "School Construction.").

Thank you all for your prayers during the past month for the Stockeland Family.  Both Mark and Lacey were hospitalized for several days in Florida, but praise God, they are back at their home in Pennsylvania and on the road to recovery!  They are both still weak, but are resting and mending by God's grace before returning to Haiti.  Your continued prayers for their health are appreciated.

The Stones have returned to Haiti from their sabbatical, and you can read a short recap of their experience by clicking here.  They would like to thank everyone for the prayers during this time of rest.  They are ready to jump back into ministry in Haiti!

Father's Day is fast approaching!  June 18th is Father's Day, and if you are at a loss as to what to give as a gift to the person who raised you, let us help!  Get them a gift that counts by donating to Haiti Bible Mission in their honor, and we will take care of the rest!  Make a donation of any amount in his honor, and we will send him a postcard for Father's Day, reminding him how important he is!  Simply follow these steps to give your father the gift of hope for others:

Click the button at the top to donate!  On the donation page, choose "Father's Day" from the dropdown category menu.  Put your father's mailing address in the comments section.

We will then mail your father a postcard telling him how great he is (and how much you care with your gift) before Father's Day!
