This Week at HBM

This past week at Haiti Bible Mission has been nothing short of eventful. It's been a rain filled week in western Haiti but before the rains took over we were able to accomplish some great things. We were able to spend some quality time with the director of the local hospital and trying to understand more how we can partner and bless their efforts to aid the people of Jeremie. A way we've been able to bless them now and in the past was to simply help them with their grounds keeping. We've made great progress to make the local hospital a place where people feel invited and cared for.

A large part of our ministry at HBM is meeting people's basic needs. Farming has been difficult this year and many families are finding it hard to supplement what they aren't able to grow. Growing your own food in Haiti is the way most people feed their families. The community of Te Wouj where HBM planted a church and school have been no exception to this shortage of food. Thanks to your generosity we've been able to supply food to the children who attend the school as well as the church family and friends in the surrounding areas.

Carl Eric, who helps leads our security and sports oureach, has been very busy teaching the kids in the city and a local orphanage basketball and team building skills. Basketball and soccer are very popular in Haiti and we are seeing great fruits by using these sports as vehicles to teach children simple ethics. During these sports outreaches Carl Eric is also able to share the gospel and provide some food and water to bless these kids efforts. God is doing great things and we are so thankful for all our HBM family who help us live the difference in Jeremie.
