Year-end Report and Giving Opportunity

Dear Family and Friends,

I can't thank you all enough for all your support and prayers during 2012.  As the year comes to a close I look back at all that has happened and it brings back a lot of great memories.  As is to be expected with mission work in Haiti there were some hard challenges but 2012 was a great year with groups, projects and a lot of changed lives.

2012 was a good year financially for HBM with a lot of money given to support several projects where there was great need, but we had some slow months in giving to our general expenses and had to borrow from the “truck fund” to keep our monthly bills paid and the day to day operations of the mission running.

In order to help meet that shortfall I'm sending out a challenge to everyone that supports HBM in the hopes of raising $10,000 by the end of the year!  This money will help replenish the truck fund and operations budget and prepare HBM to start 2013 well.  My family wanted to lead the way on this initiative so we made the first donation giving 20% of our December support to kick things off.  We wanted everybody to know that we have skin in the game and are excited to be apart of this project as well.  We will be tracking donations made for this project and updating everyone via Facebook, Twitter and email so you can see how God is at work.  My prayer this Christmas is that we would not get carried away with just gifts but give to see lives changed for the advancement of the Kingdom.
